San Mig Coffee Mixers

The San Mig Super Coffee Mixers are a professional basketball team playing in the Philippine Basketball Association. The team is owned by the San Miguel Pure Foods Company, Inc. (formerly, Purefoods Corporation), a subsidiary of San Miguel Corporation (SMC). The team is one of three PBA ball clubs currently owned by the SMC group of companies, along with Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Petron Blaze Boosters. The franchise joined the PBA in 1988, when Purefoods Corporation acquired the franchise of the original Tanduay team. In 2001, Purefoods Corporation, including its PBA franchise, was acquired by SMC. The franchise continued to play under the Purefoods name until 2010. From 2010-2012, the franchise played as the B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados and later, the B-Meg Llamados. At the start of the 2012-13 PBA season, the franchise announced it would be playing under its current name, San Mig Coffee Mixers. From its Purefoods days to the present, it remains as one of the most popular teams in the PBA.[1] The player most identified with the franchise is Alvin Patrimonio, who led the franchise (playing as Purefoods) to six championships in the 1990s and early 2000s, and was named Most Valuable Player four times. Patrimonio retired in 2004 to concentrate more on his duties as team manager for his team.
